Our new function room is here!

We are all very excited at Shurland HQ….our function room is complete and we are ready to take bookings for the remainder of 2011 and into 2012.

We got a wonderfully huge new room, complete with fantastic disco lights that we managed to acquire from a Nightclub – they really set the scene! Photos will be uploaded very soon….! We’ve also splashed out on brand new chairs and tables to really modernise the whole feel of the room – the possibilities are endless!

We are currently in talks with performers – watch this space as the amazing Marcus Cinganelli will be returning – allowing us to sell twice as many tickets as this year! We’ve got Christmas parties planned and our biggest event yet – NEW YEARS EVE PARTY! Plans are well underway for updating our very tired restaurant into something very special – and the Gym refurb is just around the corner. Things are great at the Shurland. We’ve had news with regards to the expansion, and building works are set to start in the next few weeks. We are all very excited! The plans are now laid, the equipment and material ordered – and we are very keen to see the building change once again!

We’ve also got a brand new Chef, he has created our new Summer menu, which can be viewed here: http://www.theshurlandhotel.com/restaurant. He’s proving to be a hit, and his food tastes great too!

We’ve got special offers coming out of our ears – with 10% off all rooms this coming weekend, Kids eat FREE all this week, and, when booking through Trip Advisor – we are giving away a bottle of wine with every Reservation made! Bookmark this blog for future offers!

Overall, it’s been rather hectic – Bank Holiday was great for us, we were packed, the hotel + bar was full to the brim with people + the sun stayed shining! It’s all good! Let’s hope we have a cracking Summer!

Where has the sunshine gone?

It’s been very busy here of late, with Christenings, Birthday Parties and Award Ceremonies keeping us all on our toes! The last few weeks have flown by – and we’ve got a small break before it all starts again.

The website is now live and I’ve been busy expanding our social networking presence – we’ve now got a Twitter account (http://twitter.com/#!/ShurlandHotel), as well as a FourSquare profile and a LinkedIn listing.

I’ve also signed us up with the big names, to enable online reservation bookings – for example; Booking.com, lastminute.com and expedia to name but a few. So far so good, had a great number of bookings – lets hope they keep them coming!

The weather outside has taken a turn for the worse, we’ve almost forgotten what the sun looks like. Let’s hope it returns in time for our new benches that are due to arrive this week.

We are very much looking forward to our Psychic Night with Marcus Cinganelli – it takes place on the 11th June, tickets are flying out of the door! I’d suggest getting in there quick to avoid missing out!
